My 365 Photo Project

0 notes

17 days behind on this.

And I’ve already missed taking photographs for 2 days. I want to start this over, preferably in the summer or some other time that is more convenient and feels right. That could be tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, or a year from now. I want to put more effort into documenting my life, because right now I feel like I’m not. On one hand I feel like a failure because I’m not keeping up, but I know there will be a time not too long from now that I’ll be happy to document my life for a year and not miss writing it down. Just wait folks, because this is going to be good, I promise.

March 1st, 2012, Day 61: “Do you want to go somewhere else to talk?”
Today was very, interesting. Woke up this morning at Maddie’s house, and got ready for the day. Today’s Maddie’s birthday so she dressed up. She got the Iphone 4s from her mom, which was kind of funny since the night before she was freaking out about not being able to use her phone. We got back to the residence halls in time for me to go to Core Humanities, but I decided not to go. I tried to start on my critical paper that’s due tomorrow, but I really couldn’t start it. We had to go to my professor’s studio for lighting class, and he didn’t really care too much for my painting recreation. That really disappointed me. Then we had a rushed demonstration on using hot flashes, and then surprised one of Jeff’s clients by acting like paparazzi. Terry dropped me off back at the res halls just in time to go to RHA, which was really long because we went over some new proposals that might go into effect soon. After RHA I went with everyone into the RHA office to work on stuff for WPC, then Sam called me. He asked if I was in the RHA office, and if I wanted to grab food after the Spring Banquet committee meeting because he needed to talk to me. I said sure, and two minutes later he was in the office, acting like nothing was wrong. After the banquet meeting Sam and I went to the DC store to eat. We gossiped about some stuff for a while. Then he started talking about other personal things, and I decided to take him up into Nye since he seemed uncomfortable talking about it in the DC store. We really connected over talking about stuff, and I’m really grateful for that. I feel like him and I are closer friends now, and always will be. After I walked Sam downstairs, I went and chilled with everyone in Allison and Cassie’s room for a bit, and took this picture of Jason’s laptop.

February 29th, 2012, Day 60: “Do you guys mind if I come?”
Today was a REALLY good day! Didn’t end up having a tour but Hillary and I got a new tour partner, Kyle! We’re going to be quite the trio. After Art History Terry and I went over to the studio to shoot for our remakes of paintings. Hers turned out really good, but I’m not feeling too confidant about mine. We got out of the studio around 9:30, which just so happened was when the choir concert got out, so I ran into Kaitlyn and Mark. When we went back to Nye Kaitlyn and Maddie were getting ready to go over to Maddie’s house, since tomorrow is her birthday and she wanted to bake cupcakes. I asked if I could go, and they said absolutely! We went to In-N-Out and had animal style EVERYTHING. Fries, grilled cheese, double-doubles, you name it Then we stole a whole bunch of ketchup cups for Maddie’s party. Then we stopped at a sketchy Walmart to get Jello and other various items, since Maddie plans on making Jello shots for her party. We got back to her house and chilled for a bit, then made two different types of cupcakes. Kaitlyn and I ended up passing out on her bed around 3 in the morning.

February 28th, 2012, Day 59: “An Off Day”
Today was just not my day in terms of being productive/doing fun things. Core humanities was boring as hell, as usual. When I was in my studio lighting class Jesse texted me asking if I wanted to go see “Love Never Dies” with her, which I did. So I promptly cancelled my studio time for that night, but then Jesse said she wouldn’t be able to pick me up because she “had to get to the theatre early.” So then I could’t even be productive in the studio that night. We had a guest speaker in our class who seemed really pompous about her food magazine, since our next assignment is to shoot food. Crit didn’t go too well either, my professor didn’t like my wine bottle picture. When I got back to Nye I just had the healthy choice pasta for dinner, since I didn’t want to go downstairs. Hall council was alright, we just need to get our shit together. Meh.

February 27th, 2012, Day 58: “Oh shit it snowed.”
I woke up this morning to find that it had snowed overnight out of nowhere. It was okay because it was absolutely gorgeous. It’s supposed to snow all week! After Jason, Mark, and I had lunch (fantastic conversation was had), I tried to study more for Art History, which didn’t really work out. I went into the test feeling pretty good, and went out feeling the same. At RHP we discussed our next event, Wolfpack Feud, our spin on Family Feud. I’m in charge of advertising again, which I’m excited about. I’ve spent the remainder of the evening catching up on my 365. ._.

February 26th, 2012, Day 57: “This is what happens when you take the Internet away from college students…”
Things seemed a bit better today than they were yesterday. I woke up early again to shower and begin studying. I actually went to brunch with everyone this morning, and things seemed normal for the most part. When we came back I immediately took my stuff to the Knowledge Center and studied for roughly 6 hours. While I was there I found out that the power had gone out at the Joe and the Internet had gone out for most of campus. They closed the Knowledge Center early because they couldn’t restore full power. When I got back to Nye I watched the Oscars with everyone in the lounge. Then we messed around for a bit since the Internet still hadn’t been restored.

February 25th, 2012, Day 56: “A Personal Pity Party”
Today certainly wasn’t the best day. I woke up early so that I could crank out as much homework as possible so I could dedicate most of my time to studying for Art History. I got through most of it by 11, which made me feel good. Then I heard everyone stirring, like they were about to go down for breakfast. I knew it’d be a big deal, since it’s Angel’s last meal here. I left my door propped open a bit, but nobody bothered to ask me if I wanted to go. I definitely felt rejected/ignored, and felt really sad. I skyped with my mom because she had wanted to talk to me for a while, and ended up having a complete meltdown over Skype. It was not fun. I felt a little better after talking to my mom, but still felt really sad. I ended up walking to the Joe by myself to get Port of Subs. Karmel and Geoff were working, which made me really happy. I ate there and went back to Nye, feeling a bit better. When I walked in everyone seemed really solemn, which felt kind of awkward since I didn’t really know how to talk to everyone. Luckily Andy came in and wanted someone to go to CFA with him, so I volunteered. Jason and Mark came along too, but Andy and I mostly talked on the way there. When we came back I pretty much locked myself in my room for the rest of the evening, catching up on homework and prepping my material for Art History. After I was done with that I peeked my head out to see what everyone was doing. It sounded like they were doing their own thing in Allison and Cassie’s room, so I opted to have a personal pity party. I went down to the DC store and bought a pint of Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Cheddar Fries. When I came back up I put on The Green Mile and proceeded to eat all of the ice cream and cheddar fries. I kind of felt bad about myself afterwards, but I don’t really regret it.

February 24th, 2012, Day 55: “I Need to Get Out of Here”
Today was, interesting. After Anthro I went to lunch with Jason, and we talked a bit about how Angel is leaving tomorrow. I didn’t really want to talk much about it, so I went to table with AMBYS like I planned. I was talking to Theo about the AMBYS baby shower tomorrow and how I couldn’t go, and he convinced me to go with him to Molly’s to bake stuff for it. Considering I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed my night otherwise, I decided to go. Before that we went to Pub and Sub with some of the other ambassadors, which was a lot of fun! I didn’t end up paying for anything, which I kind of feel bad about, but it was good cheap pizza. From there Theo and I picked up Devonnie and went to Walmart. Now when it comes to baking, it’s serious business for me. I LOVE IT. So needless to say I went crazy at Walmart. Then we went over to Molly’s, where we found that she lives surprisingly close to campus. We made some teddy bear cookies that Theo and I found in his cookie book, some mini cheesecakes, and some vegetable pastry pin wheel things. IT WAS ALL SO GOOD! Then we chilled on the couch and watched Pride and Prejudice, SO GOOD. We didn’t get back until 1:30, which was awesome.

February 23rd, 2012, Day 54: “Let’s Light Some Wine Bottles”
Had to go to Jeff’s studio today for lighting class. We had to light a reflective surface, namely wine bottles. It was pretty difficult to say the least, but I feel pretty good about it. RHA wasn’t really exciting at all, and when I came back I vented to Kaitlyn about some drama. That was about it really.
